On the left is a picture taken of my car on March 11, 1982, in Albuquerque, N.M. when it was only 8 days old. I purchased the car new for $16,435. On the right is a picture taken September 8, 2002, after 110,000 miles of reliable service. The color was changed to black in 1997.

For those lacking in a history of mechanical ability let me encourage you to buy a box of rubber gloves, find some old T-shirts and dive in. The grease and oil is very friendly and I find it a great way to divert your mind and be a bit creative as you will see in the pictures that follow. We have many ideas planned from inside and out. Some of which may seem only minor task to some of you but remember that my 1982 320i is a laboratory for us and a vehicle that I am finding has a much greater value than transportation. It has become a vehicle for my son and I to have some "tool time" together. What better way for men to be men. Maybe my daughter will follow in our greasy footsteps. She is my 16 year old sweetheart and I'm not sure I want her pretty little hands to touch a wrench.
